WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team was on scene Wednesday morning near UMass Medical Center following a collision between a Valet Park of America shuttle van and a Jeep.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Plantation Street and North Road.

Police say several people were injured in the crash, including one passenger in the shuttle van who was ejected from the vehicle.

According to UMass Memorial, there were 11 people injured and transported to UMass Medical and Memorial campuses and to Saint Vincent Hospital, including two people in the Jeep.

There were eight UMass employees and a driver in the shuttle van traveling from the employee parking garage to the UMass Medical campus.

The injured passengers received Priority 2 emergency medical attention, but none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening, according to police.

The circumstances surrounding the crash weren't immediately known. The shuttle van ended up going over a curb and into a fence outside of Mercadante Funeral Home. The Jeep came to a stop in the middle of the North Road entrance from Plantation Street with significant damage the driver's side and front of the vehicle.

Worcester Police closed the entrance to North Road as the Crash Reconstruction Team investigated.  The street reopened around 10 a.m.

We will update this story as more information becomes available.

Editor's Note: Worcester Police at the scene of the crash had originally informed Spectrum News 1 that there were only six people in the van and one in the Jeep. We have updated this story with new information from UMass Memorial.
